UUSD’s John Sykes earns Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Award

Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware member and Green Team Chair John Sykes was recently recognized as one of 31 recipients of the 2019 Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award.

The awards honor the contributions of individuals and groups in Delaware who have made a positive impact in their communities or across the state through service and volunteering. The award is given to recognize significant contributions, engagement and impact in diverse activities, including protecting the environment.

Sykes received this award for his work in spearheading the Windows of Hope project and initiating an interfaith environmental justice group called Delaware Interfaith Power and Light. For more information, go to https://delawareipl.org/wp/.
